Getting around

Brighton & Hove on your doorstep – a guide to getting around

on foot

Walking

Local pubs, shops and restaurants are within a 5 minute walk. The seafront and Hove Promenade is a 10 minutes walk.

 

Buses to central Brighton are outside the door and Portslade train station is a 4 minute walk. Walking is flat, well-lit, and easy at night.

Public Transport

Buses and Trains

We are on the main bus route to and from Brighton. The stop is located over the road and all buses go to Brighton. The 1X is the express service, stopping at Churchill Square in 10 minutes.

Portslade station is a 4 minute walk with direct trains to Brighton, Gatwick Airport and London Victoria.

Bike hire and cycle paths

Brighton & Hove operates the Beryl bike scheme, with a bike station just over the road – electric bikes are available too – more info

 

Cycling into Brighton takes approximately 20 mins. There is a cycle route on the seafront that will take you on a scenic route into the city – more info.

Beaches, seafront & the Downs

The coast is the whole point of staying here — these are the stretches worth knowing about.
